The moon, a silver coin in the inky sky, cast a soft, ethereal glow through the bedroom windows, painting the grand, vast room in shades of gray and blue. It was a silent, peaceful night, a stark contrast to the quiet, humming energy that seemed to exist between them. They lay in their bed, a fortress of pillows and plush duvets, a shared space that had become their sanctuary. The sheets were a cool whisper against Elara’s skin, but the warmth of Rhys’s body, solid and constant beside her, was all the comfort she needed.
